What is empagliflozin ?
Empagliflozin is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), heart failure, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It belongs to a class of drugs called SGLT2 inhibitors (sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 inhibitors), which help lower blood sugar levels by causing the kidneys to excrete excess glucose through urine.
